Position Summary

Position: Captain
Reports To: Operations Manager / Port Captain
Salary: Hourly wage $18.00 to $25.00; + an end of season bonus

This is a seasonal position beginning in April and ending in September. The general duties are to follow USCG guidelines, ensure safety and comfort of passengers, maintain general boat duties, and any other duties as required by the management staff. This is a fast pace environment that requires both attention to detail and flexibility to changes in schedules.

Qualifications:

USCG 50 ton license
Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
Knowledge of USCG guidelines
Strong leadership and problem solving abilities
Excellent customer service focus
Ability to follow direction and adapt well to a changing environment
Calm under stressful conditions and ability to make quick decisions
Good work ethic and the ability to work in a team environment

Working Environment:

This position is required to work in an outdoor environment on the water. Duties include USCG requirements, NOAA guidelines, CBJ guidelines, and any other vessel operation skills. In addition, this position requires greeting of passengers and helping to coordinate transfers from the bus to the boat by clear communication with the office or driver. It is important to maintain a professional company representation at all times while on duty.
