Position: Pier Sales Representative
Reports to: On Duty Manager
Salary: Hourly wage $10.00 and selling bonus of 5%
Position Summary:
This is a seasonal position from May to September for pier sales. The Pier Sales Representative will book according to availability of desired tour and scheduling. Passengers will inquire about tours and availability while in Juneau. It is important to check with appropriate company availability and time slot before completing the transaction. Accurate accounting and settlement records are a must.
Daily Duties:
- To work in coordination with base representative for appropriate reservation of tours
- Maintain accurate passenger count for boat capacity and scheduling of pickup
- Meet and greet prospective passengers in a positive and professional manner
- Maintain good company representation at all times while on duty
- Coordinate transportation duties with drivers and or dock rep for best possible tour effect
- Responsible for planning and scheduling transportation pick up for tours and passengers
- Sell additional tours as requested by the passengers
- Required to account for the appropriate passenger count and matching dollar amount
- Other duties as assigned by manager
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, minimum age 18
- Proof of eligibility to work in the Unites States
- Excellent customer service focus
- Strong leadership and problem solving abilities
- Comfortable in large groups and in a selling atmosphere
- Calm under stressful conditions and ability to make quick decisions
- Work well with minimum supervision
- Good work ethic and the ability to work in a team environment
Working Environment:
This position is located near the specific cruise line on the docks, outside in the weather conditions. Meeting and greeting the ship passengers to deliver tour information and possible bookings. It is very important to create and maintain profession company representation at all times while on duty. In addition, this position will have some opportunity to sell addition tours from other companies in the Juneau area. Also, it is important to maintain effective and positive relations with other tour operators.
