Position: Dock Rep - Dispatcher
Reports to: On Duty Manager
Salary: Hourly wage $12.00 to $15.00 per hour (based on experience)
Position Summary:
This is a seasonal position from May to September. This individual is responsible for customer service, coordination with cruise line staff, departure of guests, dispatching transportation, settlement with ship staff. This individual must be able to make decisions in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision, attention to detail and accurate records are a must.
Daily Duties:
- Meet and greet cruise line staff in a positive and professional manner
- Work in coordination with base representative for appropriate dispatching of tours
- Maintain accurate passenger count for settlement purpose and boat capacity
- Deliver updated schedule information to cruise personnel for the next port date
- Coordinate transportation duties with drivers for best possible tour effect
- Work in cooperation with pier side sales representative to allow for effective pick up of passengers
- Maintain communication with base manager to gain count updates
- Responsible for planning and scheduling transportation for tours
- Required to settle with ship for the appropriate passenger count
- Dispatch tours in a timely manner to maintain schedule throughout the day
- Other duties as assigned by manager
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, minimum age 18
- Proof of eligibility to work in the Unites States
- Excellent customer service focus
- Organizational skills and the ability to multitask
- Strong leadership abilities with problem solving abilities
- Comfortable in large groups
- Calm under stressful conditions and ability to make quick decisions
- Good work ethic and the ability to work in a team environment
Working Environment:
This position is usually located near the specific cruise line on the docks, outside in the weather conditions. Meeting and greeting the ship staff to gain numbers for each tour and then dispatching passengers and transportation accordingly. It is very important to create and maintain positive relationships with shore X personal. In addition, it may be required for dock representative to go aboard the appropriate ship to settle the accounting for the appropriate day. This individual will also be required to work with pier sales representatives and our office representative to gain appropriate passengers for the appropriate tour.
